Meet Shandell
Shandell Landon, M.Ed
Shandell is currently a team of one who partners with various other professionals to support the work of equity and inclusion in professional and educational spaces. These partners are highlighted throughout CARES & Beyond Consulting' s website. Shandell values inclusion and belonging in all spaces and does her best to lead by example. She is continuously working on her personal and professional development as she supports this work in the field. Shandell has been working in the field of education for over 20 years with more than 15 years of classroom experience at all levels. She has recently begun supporting educators statewide through personalized professional development and is looking forward to continuing this support through CARES & Beyond Consulting.

Family First
I am a wife!
I met my husband shortly after high school and it did not take long to realize how special he is. We married in 2006 and he gives me strength every day to be my best self. The road gets bumpy at times, but we both work to put each other first. We value the other for who they are. We could not be more opposite, but it works for us! He makes everyday better and I am so happy to be in love with him.
I am a mother!
I always wanted to be a mother and even though it is challenging at times, I am so thankful for my kiddos!!!
My children are my sun, moon and all the stars. They give my life purpose and value. They continue to inspire me every day and are my why for the work I do. I am so proud of all 4 of them and love them more than I can ever express.
Education as a basic human right
I am a sister!
My first students were my siblings.
Being a sister is what started my education journey to becoming a teacher. I watched my siblings struggle in school and I realized I wanted to be a teacher who helps ALL students. My siblings are my BEST friends and I am so thankful for all (6+ 1 cousin-brother) of them. Each of them has helped to shape me into the person I am today <3
I am a teacher!
Teaching, being in the classroom and supporting students (of all ages) is what brings me joy. Whether I am in an elementary school classroom or speaking to a group of adults, teaching is what I love.
Every single student that walks through my door is important to me. I will always do my best to meet my student's needs and support them where they are on their journey. Teaching is not about me, it is about my students.

These individualized data driven plans support continuous growth in the work of equity and inclusion because inclusion and equity work are an ongoing process.
